Committee staff reported a set of recent repairs and ongoing maintenance tasks at county campus facilities and discussed a planned grounds cleanup day.
The staff member (S2) said maintenance worker Randy repaired a leak above a valve by the gym and replaced a water heater in Melville Hall after receiving the replacement part. The staff member said they had also received reports of several other heaters not working and that Randy would reach out to Mike to get those checked.
Committee members discussed winter shutdown procedures and whether some buildings should be drained for the season; staff cautioned that, because of the age of some buildings, completely shutting systems down may not be advisable. Regarding grounds work, the staff member said they have not set a specific date and that Supervisor Williamson has been working with Josh Elder to determine a day to remove trees once the ground has frozen.
A committee member (S3) said the Fred Grama family had asked to hold a memorial service on campus in February or March; staff said they would discuss permitting the event with Attorney Window and consider placing the request on a future agenda.
What happens next
Staff will coordinate heater checks with Mike, continue to monitor maintenance issues, and return to the committee with a tree‑removal schedule once ground conditions allow.
