Cape Cod Commission staff presented a coordinated public transit human services transportation plan designed to identify unmet needs and improve coordination among human‑service and public transit providers. Evan (Cape Cod Commission) outlined goals including improving demand‑response scheduling and last‑mile service, coordinating services to reduce duplication, expanding outreach and advertising for existing services, improving access infrastructure (crosswalks and boarding areas) and delivering capital equipment to maintain state of good repair and support electrification.
Evan said the plan identifies programs eligible under FTA 5310 funding and includes technical assistance and coordination recommendations to support the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority. After the presentation, MPO members moved and seconded a motion to endorse the plan; a roll‑call vote recorded affirmative votes and the endorsement passed.
What’s next: the endorsed plan will inform technical assistance and grant priorities and will be used to coordinate CCRTA support and local improvements, including bus stop inventory follow‑ups and potential electrification assistance.
