Leslie Sandberg, a Provincetown select board member, was declared elected to the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Subregion D representative seat after staff read absentee ballots from select board members across the Outer Cape and conducted a roll call of select board members present.
Steve of the Cape Cod Commission, who served as the election official, said nominations were accepted by email since the last meeting and confirmed three candidates: Jerry Serizal (Eastham), Ryan Curley (Wellfleet) and Leslie Sandberg (Provincetown). After reading absentee ballots and calling for any in-person votes, staff ‘‘declared Leslie Sandberg has won the election for the Subregion D representative seat’’ and said they would reach out to bring her up to speed on MPO activities prior to the next meeting.
Members welcomed the result. Kevin Galligan and others noted Sandberg’s experience on the Provincetown select board and expressed anticipation of her participation. The position runs through the end of 2026, aligned with other subregional representatives’ terms.
Next steps: Commission staff will follow up with Sandberg to provide onboarding materials and connect her with staff and advisory groups before the April meeting.
