Council signs off on personnel-policy housekeeping to remove nonrequired EEO examples

City staff told the council the personnel-policy changes are primarily housekeeping: remove nonrequired example language while retaining a solid equal-employment-opportunity statement that covers protected classes. Staff said they worked with legal counsel and the League of Minnesota Cities recommendations informed the language. The item is on the consent agenda and council members gave staff consensus to proceed.

No new substantive personnel processes, classifications, or enforcement mechanisms were introduced at the work session; staff will distribute the updated policy to employees if the consent-item passes at the regular meeting.
