DHS to brief committee on ARPA funding for home‑ and community‑based services and behavioral health

Mark White of the Department of Human Services closed the committee meeting with a preview of an informational joint meeting with House members at 3:30 p.m. White said the state received federal ARPA funding connected to health and home‑and‑community‑based services and that the state developed a plan that has already been approved by federal officials. He said the briefing will walk committee members through how the funds will be spent and outline opportunities for behavioral health and other services across the state.

White characterized the funding as an opportunity created by the American Rescue Plan Act of Congress and said the briefing will focus on implementation steps now that federal approval has been secured. The committee adjourned after the preview.
