Senate committee passes resolution condemning U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan

Senator Garner introduced a resolution asking the Arkansas Senate to ‘‘condemn the withdrawal’’ of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and to criticize the way President Joe Biden managed the pullout, saying the outcome caused ‘‘real human suffering’’ for service members and interpreters. Garner, who described himself as an Afghan war veteran, asked the committee to pass the resolution and to send a strong message.

A motion to pass the resolution was made by Senator Hester and seconded by Senator Ballinger.
