Committee advances House Bill 11-64 to modernize correction-of-error procedures for state land sales

The Senate State Agencies & Governmental Affairs Committee advanced House Bill 11-64, which amends Arkansas Code 22-6-102 by striking obsolete paragraphs and updating language governing correction of errors arising from erroneous sales of state-owned lands.

Senator Gary Stubblefield summarized the bill, saying it removes provisions that the office no longer uses and makes grammatical clarifications. Kelly Boyd, deputy commissioner of state lands, had no additional comments for this bill. After brief questions and discussion, Senator Payton moved to advance the bill; Senator Dodson seconded the motion and the committee approved it by voice vote.
