Panel approves bill requiring dispensaries to post pharmacist-consultation info

House Bill 1774 was presented by Representative Clint Penzo and cleared the Senate Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development Committee after the sponsor said dispensaries had proposed the language and support the requirements.

Penzo described the measure as addressing instances where some dispensaries did not make pharmacist consultation available or obvious to customers. Under the bill, dispensaries must post signage at check-in stations, provide a contact card with pharmacist information, and list pharmacist availability on their websites.

Penzo said the dispensaries had reached out and agreed to the language, and no one signed up to speak for or against the bill. The committee moved to pass HB 1774 by voice vote and adjourned.
