Senate committee concurs with House tweak to SB209 on fee timing

The Senate Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development Committee voted to concur with a House amendment to Senate Bill 209 after Sen. Missy Irvin (District 24) described the change as a clarification of timing rather than a policy shift. Irvin said the amendment makes clear that decisions to dispense with inspection and registration fees take effect in the fiscal year following a board decision.

Committee members asked no substantive questions and no one registered to speak for or against the amendment. Irvin closed by thanking agency staff and lawmakers who reviewed the text.
