Fayetteville council reviewed multiple consent agenda contracts, large utility relocation tied to I‑49/MLK

The Fayetteville City Council reviewed a broad consent agenda that included several infrastructure contracts and grant-funded projects. Staff presented a $13,967,679.50 contract proposed for Nabholz Construction Corporation to relocate water and sewer utilities associated with the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s I‑49/MLK interchange improvements; the scope includes about 9,250 feet of waterline (up to 36 inches) and 2,500 feet of sewer pipe (up to 24 inches). According to Tim (city staff), the bid was the only one submitted but fell within 1% of the engineer’s estimate, and the project is roughly 72.54% reimbursable by ARDOT, leaving a city share of about $3.85 million.
