Council moves to contact seven conservation commission candidates ahead of appointments

Councilor (Speaker 2) reported seven residents indicated interest in serving on the Conservation Commission: Sheila Reynolds; Caleb Chaffee; Jennifer Cragan; Mary Brown; Crystal Leonard; Katrina Thornley; and Chris Bacon. Speaker 2 moved to contact those individuals and to appoint any who wish to serve at the next main meeting. The motion was seconded, discussed briefly and approved by voice vote.

One councilor asked staff to also reach out to other candidates who had submitted letters in prior months to see whether they remain interested; members agreed that outreach should confirm availability prior to formal appointment.

The council treated the action as an initial step to populate commission seats subject to confirmation at the next regular meeting.
