Committee approves bill clarifying appointments to parent‑council commission (SB266)

Welch said the bill does not change which entities make appointments but matches appointment requirements to the appointing entities to avoid confusion when filling vacancies.

Committee members asked whether the president pro tem or the chief justice retained specific appointment authorities; Welch confirmed the existing appointing entities remain the same and the bill clarifies the process. Senator Clark closed and moved the bill; the committee approved SB266 by voice vote.
