Kenilworth swears in two probationary police officers; resolution approved unanimously

The Kenilworth Borough Council on Monday approved Resolution 254 appointing Quinn Constable and Michael Cascarano as probationary police officers effective Jan. 1, 2025, and administered the oath of office.

Councilman Morrow moved to approve the resolution and Councilman Scaris seconded the motion; a roll call vote was recorded with all members answering in the affirmative. After the vote, the mayor administered the oath and Michael Cascarano repeated the oath aloud: "Do solemnly swear... I will faithfully and justly perform the duties of Kenilworth Police Department, probationary, police officer." Council members congratulated the new officers and noted both are scheduled to attend the police academy in January.

The appointments will temporarily fill department vacancies and are effective at the start of the new year. The council recorded the appointments and acknowledged the department’s plan to backfill dispatcher openings created by the promotions.
