The Seaford School District board on May 13 approved a buildings-and-grounds project (SEA_23003) to use available construction allowances and remaining project funds for facility repairs at multiple sites and approved an ESSER-funded agreement to modernize and service HVAC controls and unit ventilators.
Mister Henry outlined that bids were opened and that the scope includes middle school allowances and the base bid for Fred Douglas; some building components date to 1998 and require summer repairs. On the ESSER-funded modern controls/HDAC services agreement staff described coil cleaning, preventative maintenance for unit ventilators and package units, work on chillers and replacement/inspection of boilers and tilt beams. Staff said completing the work will create records that support indoor-air-quality reporting tied to a senate bill referenced during the discussion (spoken as "SB270").
Board members moved and passed motions approving both the SEA_23003 project and the ESSER modern-controls agreement by voice vote. Staff said the ESSER funding made it possible to address multiple repairs and reduce the risk of larger future expenditures.
