The Chester County Board of Education unanimously approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda at its May session after a brief procedural motion. Roll call listed Shane Conner, Ben Couples, Jeff Harris, Vicky Hutchison, Blake Rogers and Brandy Cherry as present, establishing a quorum. A motion to accept the agenda (moved by Speaker 4 and seconded by Speaker 1) and a subsequent consent‑agenda approval passed with no recorded opposition.
Board members then reviewed project updates. Speaker 4 reported the district is still waiting for plans from Doug Shore for the agricultural building, auto shop and field house and said the board recently finalized a construction management contract that the board attorney had reviewed. "It's a generic contract...gone through the scrutiny of our own board attorney," Speaker 4 said, and offered to send electronic copies of the contract to board members.
Members discussed a new traffic pattern at Jacks Creek designed to separate passenger cars from buses during drop‑off. The board plans a trial (coning the route) during the last two days of school while sidewalks remain incomplete; speakers emphasized the need for a safe route for students to walk to cars and avoid bus conflicts.
On assessments, Speaker 4 said raw TCAP scores will be available by the end of the week and cautioned that raw scores differ from final scaled scores used for reporting. He said the raw results will provide guidance for benchmark comparisons and remediation planning.
The board announced its next meeting in the conference room at the Board of Education on the scheduled Thursday and adjourned.
