Board approves transportation plan, budget‑committee changes and summer payroll; policies given first reading

At its Monday meeting, the Ontario SD 8C board approved a series of routine administrative actions and personnel changes.

The board approved the transportation supplemental plan after staff answered brief questions; the motion passed by voice vote. The board added Eddie Melendez, Laura Reyes and Barbara Higginbotham to the budget committee and voted to remove Ken Hart and Amber Campbell from that committee. The board also approved the 2023–24 summer school payroll and approved a field‑trip request for the OMLI leadership summit at EOU.

Policy updates provided by the Oregon School Boards Association were presented as a first reading; the board made a motion to accept the first reading and will return those policies for future action. Several board members discussed calendar and schedule items, including the district’s June 30 budget meeting at 5:00 p.m.
