Senate approves rules committee report assigning several bills to standing committees

The Senate approved a rules committee report that assigns several bills to standing committees and sent the measures to committee for consideration.

The report—signed by David G. Buxton, committee chair—recommended sending Senate Bill 136 (legislative offices amendments, Sen. Bramble), Senate Bill 138 (fraudulent ticket sales modifications, Sen. Sandle), Senate Bill 139 (motor vehicle consumer data protection, Sen. Wilson) to the Business and Labor Committee; Senate Bill 137 (medical cannabis amendments, Sen. Escamilla) and first substitute House Bill 78 (behavioral health treatment access amendments, Rep. Elison) to the Health and Human Services Committee; Senate Bill 140 (Adult Protective Services Amendments, Sen. Kwan) to the Judiciary, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee; and House Bill 112 (state fish hatchery maintenance account amendments, Rep. Albrecht) to the Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment Committee.

Mister President placed a motion to approve the rules committee report; there was no discussion and the motion was approved by voice vote. The presiding officer stated, “All in favor, say aye,” and the report was adopted, after which the bills were sent to the indicated committees "as read."

The approval sends the assigned measures into committee consideration; no committee hearings, amendments, or votes on the bills themselves were recorded in the day's proceedings.

The Senate then proceeded to other business.
