Utah Senate Consents to Multiple Gubernatorial Appointments, Including Rebecca Cisneros

The Utah Senate voted to consent to a slate of appointments submitted by Governor Spencer J. Cox, including Lance Hatch to the Southern Utah University Board of Trustees and Rebecca Cisneros to the State Charter School Board. The secretary read the governor’s letter transmitting the appointments and the supporting documentation under Utah Code.

Senator Fillmore, reporting for the Education Confirmation Committee, said the committee interviewed Rebecca Cisneros for nearly an hour, found her competent and with relevant experience in private business and staff roles, and unanimously recommended her confirmation to the full Senate. Senator Davis moved that the Senate vote to consent to the appointments as read.

Senators recorded 'Aye' on a roll-call vote; the motion passed. After the vote Senator Escamilla requested to be counted as a 'yes' for the earlier confirmation of Judge Diana Hagen; the Senate granted the request and counted the senator’s vote as an aye.
