During the Town of Stratford Water Pollution Control Authority meeting on Feb. 26, officials reviewed plant operations and raised questions about consultant fees for a coastal resilience flood wall project.
Chairman Brian O'Connor introduced a report from the plant superintendent (referenced in the agenda as Mr. Hyde). A speaker reported operational nitrogen figures, stating, "We've got a 356 pound per day permit. We were at 179, which was per day, which is 1 pound over half the permit," and said overall operations were in good order.
Separately under the town attorney agenda item, Member (S3) asked about the project summary line item 3 for the coastal resilience WPCF perimeter flood wall protection, noting the consultant is requesting additional fees. The member asked for the consultant's original scope of work and contract details "to determine whether additional funds ... should be granted," and requested the question be recorded in the minutes or emailed to Town Engineer John Casey for a response at a future meeting. Chairman O'Connor confirmed Casey was not present and agreed the question could be recorded or emailed.
The transcript does not include the consultant's name, the dollar amount of the requested additional fees, or a response from the town engineer. The town attorney reported "no report" for this meeting item.
