Unidentified Speaker 4 provided project-level updates during the administrative session. He said the Allen's Block redevelopment benefitted from a newly written Main Street South Gateway zone and accompanying design standards, and that "there is a demolition permit in the queue for the Allen's Block." Staff said the project will require staging of public improvements, utility relocations and phased building construction.
On Lakeside Landing, Unidentified Speaker 4 said developer LGI is working to turn around comments on its first review of the final plat for a roughly 15-acre section near Center Street; another developer, Thrive Development, is responding to review of a preliminary plat for the northern portion. Staff reported a lengthy review cycle for part of the site but that critical path items are moving: the utility provider approved boring pressurized irrigation under the tracks and staff continues weekly coordination.
Staff noted the projects remain active and that building permits and demolition work are expected to follow the permitting milestones already in process. No final decisions or new council actions were taken during the meeting; commissioners received the updates and thanked staff.
