The Pompton Lakes Zoning Board of Adjustment approved resolution BOA24-01, which the board introduced at its May 28 meeting and recorded by roll call, and then moved on to updates about local development and municipal projects.
A board member read the resolution regarding 168 Hilltop Court and a motion to approve carried on a roll‑call vote. During the meeting one official reported that permits had been issued for the former OGCM building and that a new 20‑unit project is expected to begin construction within a week or two after permit pickup.
Board members discussed a related retaining‑wall and grading project on Hamburg Turnpike. The transcript records that engineers installed subsurface stormwater pits to collect runoff and that the developer added fencing at the top of the slope to address safety concerns raised by nearby Summit Falls residents.
Officials also described plans for a new civic center, including women’s locker rooms for police, bathrooms, kitchens and upstairs storage; the historic commission will be given cabinets inside to store historic materials. Board members suggested posting project visuals at town hall and on the project fence so residents can view designs.
Other routine business included approval of corrected minutes and a motion for adjournment; the meeting was adjourned following a vote.
