Superintendent: High-school solar array still offline; middle-school repairs, parking work planned

Superintendent Mr. Bridal told the Marlboro Central School District Board that the district’s high-school solar array has been installed but is not yet feeding electricity into the grid because it still requires a Central Hudson witness test. “To date, we are still not producing energy and having that enter into the grid,” he said, adding that the solar vendor believes outstanding instrument work has been remedied and the district expects the witness test in the next few days.

Bridal also reported on facilities work at Marlboro Middle School, where stairs on the east side of the building are in disrepair and will be repaired along with brick-facade work. He said the district’s architect presented plans to the facilities committee and will submit them to the New York State Education Department for approval, with the aim of completing the smaller projects by next summer.

The superintendent noted recent parking-lot work at the middle school: restriping widened spaces at the cost of about four spots, a trade-off the district accepted to improve usability. He also thanked the Town of Marlborough for expanding the lower parking lot at the district office, adding roughly 15 spaces near the police and court entrance.

No formal action was required on the solar timeline or the middle-school repairs during the meeting. The topics were presented as informational updates with expected next steps: scheduling the Central Hudson witness test for the solar interconnection and submitting construction plans for state review for the middle-school work.
