Rules committee approves three appointments to SweatFree Procurement Advisory Group

The Rules Committee considered and recommended three applicants for the SweatFree Procurement Advisory Group on Jan. 10.

Chair Aaron Peskin introduced the item and noted three applicants for the positions. Applicants Coyote Marin and Julene Fisher appeared and described their experience and goals. Marin said they had served on the committee for more than four years and had been vice chair; Julene Fisher said she hoped to expand outreach and public awareness of the ordinance and committee work.

Supervisor Connie Chan moved to recommend appointment of Jason Ohringer to seat 1, Coyote Marin to seat 2, and Julene Fisher to seat 4. The clerk recorded roll call votes of "Aye" from Chan, Vice Chair Rafael Mandelmann and Chair Peskin; the motion passed without objection.

Two advisory seats remain vacant and the chair invited interested members of the public to apply to the Board of Supervisors for those openings. The appointments will be forwarded as a committee recommendation to the full Board.
