Rules Committee forwards two nominees to Food Security Task Force

The Rules Committee on Dec. 6 advanced two nominees to the Food Security Task Force.

Meredith Terrell (seat 12) described 17 years of experience with community-based organizations focused on food security, nutrition and emergency mass care, including prior service on the Food Security Task Force. She emphasized the need for culturally appropriate food access and outreach to seniors.

An applicant who identified themself as DeJear Maurice (listed in the agenda materials under the second nominee) described leadership with a coalition of faith-based organizations working on hunger response during the COVID-19 pandemic and partnerships with food banks and public-health agencies.

Operations reported no public callers for this item. Chair Peskin moved to forward the two nominees (leaving one seat vacant) and the roll call passed without objection. The appointments will be transmitted to the full Board with the committee's recommendation.
