Rules Committee OKs residency waiver and forwards Jessica Campos for CPAC

The Rules Committee on Oct. 3 voted to forward an appointment by the Board president of Jessica Campos to the Childcare Planning and Advisory Council (term to 03/19/2024), including a requested residency waiver.

Campos introduced herself to the committee and described her role in the Office of Racial Equity and prior experience as a Head Start center manager in the Bayview. "I am honored and accept," she told the panel and noted her focus on equitable supports for families, children and teachers.

Chair Aaron Peskin said Campos is "clearly qualified," and the committee amended the file to remove language that would have rejected the appointment. The committee then voted without objection to forward the amended item to the full board with a positive recommendation for a hearing on Oct. 18.

No public commenters were on the record for this item during the meeting. The committee did not attach further conditions to the recommendation.
