The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee on Monday forwarded three items to the full Board with positive recommendations, approving appointments and reappointments to regional boards.
Chair Matt Dorsey opened the meeting and the committee moved quickly through routine appointments. The committee approved sending Supervisor Myrna Melgar’s appointment to the Association of Bay Area Governments executive board to the full Board. Public callers and an in‑person speaker expressed support for Melgar during the brief public‑comment period.
The committee also voted to reappoint Supervisor Catherine Stefani to the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District board for a term ending Jan. 31, 2025. Supporters called in from constituents and members who attend district board meetings and urged continuity of representation.
On a separate item to reappoint Supervisor Matt Dorsey to the Golden Gate Bridge district, Dorsey recused himself because the position carries a small stipend; after his recusal the committee voted to forward the reappointment to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
All three recommendations were advanced by roll call and recorded as passing without objection. The committee’s actions send the nominations to the full Board for final consideration.
