Committee continues hearing on violence targeting Asian communities for further Human Rights Commission work

Item 4 — a hearing to address crime and violence targeting Asian American seniors and other vulnerable groups — was introduced but continued to the call of the chair. Chair Marr said the Human Rights Commission and other departments are still developing a citywide plan and the committee agreed to continue the hearing so staff can finish their assessment and recommendations.

Public comment was not taken; staff said no callers were in queue for this item at the time it was called.

The committee recorded a 3–0 vote to continue the item to the call of the chair.
