The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee voted Jan. 27, 2022 to recommend to the full Board an amended ordinance requiring the Police Department and the District Attorney to submit quarterly reports on the number of domestic-violence cases involving certain types of abuse against minors, and requiring the District Attorney to report quarterly on the total number of crime victims to whom the DA has provided or made documented efforts to provide services.
Chair Gordon Marr moved to send the amended ordinance to the Board with a positive recommendation. The clerk recorded votes as follows: Supervisor Catherine Stephanie — Aye; Member Matt Haney — Aye; Chair Marr — Aye. The motion passed (3 ayes). There were no public callers for this item when public comment was opened.
The committee’s positive recommendation will forward the ordinance to the Board of Supervisors; the clerk noted items acted upon at this meeting were expected to appear on the Board agenda on Feb. 8, 2022.
