The Rules Committee unanimously approved and forwarded to the full Board proposed amendments to the campaign and governmental conduct code that update the list of required Form 700 filers for positions under the Office of the City Administrator. Sophie Hayward, speaking for the City Administrator’s office, said the update alphabetizes departments and working titles, removes duplicative or defunct positions, and adds required filers such as digital and data services, ReproMail, the Office of Cannabis, and the Permit Center. The effort is tied to a parallel rollout of tailored ethics training for employees who do and do not file Form 700 disclosures.
Hayward said the changes do not remove any existing filers but clarify titles and make the list easier to use; staff conducted outreach to listed employees, presented an informational update to the Ethics Commission, and consulted DHR and labor partners. With no public commenters, the committee agreed to send the updated code to the Board with a positive recommendation.
