Rules Committee forwards Kevin Cohen nomination to Treasury Oversight Committee with residency waiver

The Rules Committee on April 1 recommended that the full Board consider the mayor’s nomination of Kevin Cohen to the Treasury Oversight Committee for a term ending June 17, 2026. Kevin Cohen, who identified himself as the assistant chief financial officer at the airport, described his experience leading airport financial operations and previous service on the treasury oversight committee.

The committee discussed adding a residency waiver to the nomination. Chair Hillary Ronan moved to remove "rejecting" language from the draft, add a residency waiver, and forward the amended nomination to the full Board with a positive recommendation. Vice Chair Shamone Walton and Chair Ronan recorded "aye"; Supervisor Asha Safai was recorded absent on the roll call. The motion passed without objection. There were no public speakers on this item.

The clerk noted the committee’s recommendation and will forward the amended nomination package to the Board for consideration on the schedule provided by the clerk.
