Committee recommends positive action for Project 1972’s private‑club license at Montgomery Street

The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee considered Item 3, a premise‑to‑premise double transfer of a type 57 special on‑sale general license to Project 1972 Inc., doing business as Chief SF, at 735 Montgomery Street. Officer Salmonson reported “0 letters of protest, 0 letters of support,” said the location is in Plot 140 and Census Tract 61101 (characterized in the report as high saturation/high crime), and recommended approval.

Victor Marquez, speaking for Project 1972, said the organization (referred to in the hearing as Chief SF) is a private membership network focused on supporting women executives with venues in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and plans to expand to San Francisco. Marquez thanked committee clerk Alisa Somera for assistance and said two organization representatives were available for questions.

There was no public comment. Chair Mar moved to prepare a resolution finding that the transfer would serve the public convenience and necessity and to send it to the full Board with a positive recommendation as a committee report. On roll call the motion passed with recorded ayes. The committee’s action sends the positive recommendation to the full Board for final consideration.
