Committee recommends Type 20 beer-and-wine license for Dapper Nob Hill

The Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee voted March 9, 2023 to prepare a resolution supporting a Type 20 off‑sale beer and wine license for Dapper Nob Hill LLC, located at 1198 Pacific.

Officer Salmonson of the San Francisco Police Department's ABC liaison unit presented the committee with the PCN (public convenience or necessity) report, saying the applicant had 0 letters of protest and 0 letters of support, that the location is in Plot 136 and Census Tract 108 (described in the report as a high‑crime, high‑saturation area), that Central Station registered no opposition, and that the Alcohol Liaison Unit recommended approval with no additional conditions.

Andrea Fogelback, a partner at Dapper and a neighborhood resident, said the store aims to address a local 'food desert' by providing fresh sandwiches, groceries and coffee to the neighborhood. Chair Supervisor Catherine Stephanie noted President Peskin had no issues with the request. With no public comment, Chair Stephanie moved to prepare a resolution finding the license serves the public convenience or necessity. Vice Chair Angadio and Supervisor Dorsey joined Stephanie in recorded 'aye' votes; the clerk reported no opposition. The resolution will go to the full Board for consideration on March 21, 2023.
