Committee approves positive recommendation for Caltrans maintenance agreement amendment on SR‑280

The committee voted Dec. 5 to send a positive recommendation to the full Board for the third amendment to the delegated maintenance agreement (DMA) between the City and Caltrans. The amendment documents cost‑sharing responsibilities so the city may maintain additional traffic control devices on Caltrans right‑of‑way along SR‑280 (eastbound Alameda Boulevard at San Bruno Avenue ramps).

Michelle Wu, a project manager with San Francisco Public Works, described the City’s ongoing safety improvement project at the location: installation of new traffic signals and lighting, new curb ramps and a multi‑use path to improve pedestrian and transit connections. Wu said the DMA amendment is important to clarify responsibilities and advance the construction work.

There were no public callers on the item. The committee moved to forward a positive recommendation and voted unanimously (3 ayes).
