Committee approves technical planning‑code corrections and forwards them to the Board

The Land Use & Transportation Committee approved amendments to a technical ordinance that corrects typographical errors, outdated cross‑references, and non‑substantive clarifications in the city's planning and administrative codes, and voted to forward the ordinance to the full Board with a positive recommendation.

Audrey Marloney of the Planning Department said the updated ordinance fixes grammar, accidental insertions and deletions, and unintentional cross‑references that could undermine enforceability, and that the proposed changes are non‑substantive with respect to policy. President Aaron Peskin raised a narrow question about proposed language affecting signage in article 11; Deputy City Attorney Anne Pearson advised coordinating with Planning because the signage change could intersect with introduced but not yet enacted signage legislation. The committee agreed to adopt the clarification presented on pages 24–25 and to send the item as amended to the Board.

What happens next: The ordinance as amended will be scheduled for full Board consideration with a committee recommendation.
