Committee advances $85,000 reappropriation to DPW to restore electrical access for a free clinic

The committee considered an ordinance to deappropriate $85,000 previously appropriated to the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families and reappropriate the amount to the Department of Public Works for street maintenance and cleaning in FY2021‑22.

Vice Chair Asha Safaii described an urgent need to use the funds to provide electricity to a proposed free clinic after an underground stairwell was discovered in the path of a required electrical transformer. Safaii read technical budget amendment lines into the record to reassign project codes and reserve project numbers. There were no public callers. The committee approved the amendments and forwarded the ordinance to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
