Committee recommends SFPUC site use lease in Tracy for radio system replacement

The Budget & Finance Committee voted to forward to the full Board a resolution authorizing the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to enter a site use agreement with VB Nimbus LLC for installation and operation of radio equipment at a Corral Hollow site in Tracy. SFPUC presenter Jeremy Spitz said the water enterprise radio replacement project will consolidate 29 transceiver and dispatch sites into a unified system to support operations and disaster communications across a seven‑county, 2,400‑square‑mile area. The agreement includes a five‑year term with 4–5 year extension options and an initial rental rate of $30,000 per year with a 3% annual increase, consistent with state telecommunications lease guidelines.

One remote public commenter, David Pilfel, spoke in support. The committee adopted the BLA recommendation and forwarded the resolution to the full Board with a positive recommendation.
