Committee approves forwarding to full board a retroactive gift acceptance for Laguna Honda Hospital

Laguna Honda Hospital asked the Budget and Finance Committee on Oct. 4 to recommend that the full Board accept and expend an approximately $79,000 cash gift from the estate of Janet D. Kramer to support resident programs such as in‑house art, music, special meals and outings. Willie Conover, chief financial officer at Laguna Honda, described the donation and its intended use; Greg Wong explained the request for retroactive authorization was prompted by the award notice and the estate settlement timeline.
