Board conditions Twentieth Street alteration permits on revised Dec. 6 plans

The Board of Appeals granted an appeal Dec. 8 to issue an alteration permit for three Twentieth Street addresses conditioned on the revised plans submitted Dec. 6.

Permitting representatives said they revised earlier plans to keep the kitchen in place while opening the layout, converting a pantry to a bathroom, and adding laundry stacks. Deputy Zoning Administrator Tina Tam reviewed the Dec. 6 plans and told the board she saw no planning issues and that the proposed layout complied with the definition of a dwelling unit.

DBI noted an outstanding Notice of Violation (NOB) for unrelated sanitation and maintenance issues; the over-excavation item is being addressed by a separate building permit. Appellants and the permit holder discussed plan revision dates and confirmed the Dec. 6 set would be the controlling set for approval.

Commissioners found the revised plans responsive to prior concerns and voted 4-0 to grant the appeal and condition the permit on the Dec. 6 plans.
