The San Francisco Board of Appeals handled several procedural matters at its April 12 meeting. Commissioners adopted the minutes of the March 15 meeting with small typographical corrections and an amendment to a deck condition; the motion carried 4–0.
Early in the meeting the parties for appeals related to 1863 Pine Street (items 6A–6D) requested a continuance so they could pursue a settlement; the board continued those items to May 31, 2023 (motion carried 4–0).
For the contested appeal involving 3420–3424 Sixteenth Street (item 4), after testimony and DBI review the board continued the matter to June 7, 2023. Commissioners required the permit holder to submit a set of accurate plans that reflect existing site conditions and to submit those plans to DBI and to the board office by the Thursday before the June 7 hearing so DBI can complete its review in advance.
The board emphasized rules for testimony and public comment (7 minutes for parties, 3 minutes for rebuttal, 3 minutes for unaffiliated public comment) and reminded attendees that four votes are required to grant an appeal or modify a permit.
