The San Francisco Board of Appeals on Dec. 6 granted an appeal related to a Stannard Street property after the parties reached a settlement that allows the subject tree to be removed if the appellant replaces it.
Board staff told commissioners the parties had agreed that the appeal would be granted and that the order would be revised to permit removal of the subject tree on the condition that the appellant plant a 36‑inch‑box replacement tree on the uphill side of the existing tree. The replacement species will be selected by the Bureau of Urban Forestry, which told the board it supports the outcome.
A commissioner moved to approve the agreement. Vice President Jose Lopez, Commissioner John Trezvina and President Rick Swig voted in favor; the motion carried 4‑0 and the appeal was granted with the stated conditions.
The board recorded no public comment on that item and thanked the parties for resolving the matter prior to a contested hearing.
