At the Feb. 15 hearing the Planning Department reported two landmark designations heard at the Historic Preservation Commission: the Grand Theater at 2665 Mission Street and the Sacred Heart Parish Complex. Audrey Maloney, filling in for Director Aaron Starr, described the historic value and committee recommendations for both items and said the Sacred Heart item was continued to Feb. 29 to allow Supervisor Peskin to draft amendments.
Maloney summarized a series of planning‑code and ordinance activities heard recently in committee, including proposed family housing opportunity SUD amendments, state‑related ADU control adjustments and a mayoral ordinance on form‑based residential density. She said committee members requested further amendments on ownership timeframes, density‑bonus interactions and sunset provisions; several items were continued to allow the city attorney and supervisors time to draft revisions.
Maloney also reported that the code corrections ordinance passed its final reading at the full board this week and that a downtown rail extension fee waiver passed its first reading.
The commission received the report with no substantive action taken at the hearing; items were routed back to committee or continued as noted.
