The San Francisco Planning Commission on March 7 unanimously approved items on its consent calendar, rescinding a prior action to allow adoption of required CEQA findings for a proposed Whole Foods at 2675 Gary Boulevard and approving related conditional-use authorization with the original project conditions intact. Commission President Diamond and the five-member panel voted 5–0 to rescind and then adopt the CEQA findings after staff said the finding had been omitted from the Feb. 1 agenda and must be adopted before approving the project.
During the same consent action the commission approved a conditional use authorization to remove an unauthorized dwelling unit at 65–67 Noe Street, after planning staff reported the Ground Floor unit was uninhabitable, had been vacant since 2017, and that the proposal would abate enforcement case 2021-011264. Vice President Moore moved approval with conditions; the motion passed unanimously.
Earlier in the hearing commissioners heard and granted requests to continue three items: Case 2023-007496 at 638 Rhode Island Street was continued from March 14 to March 21, and two other conditional-use items (2023-004973 at Fillmore Street and 2023-002996 at 807–809 Vermont Street) were continued indefinitely. No members of the public spoke on the continuance motion.
The meeting also included routine departmental updates from the manager of legislative affairs and a land-acknowledgement read by Commissioner Imperial. The commission proceeded to the regular calendar following public comment and these consent actions.
