Board readout: three student OAH cases authorized for payment

Before the public portion of the meeting, the board recessed to closed session and later read out actions taken in anticipated litigation. The chair reported that in five matters of anticipated litigation the board gave direction to general counsel. Specifically, for three Office of Administrative Hearings cases (identified in the readout as RM v. SFUSD, OAH case no. 2023090594; K L v. SFUSD, OAH case no. 2023090418; and AKS v. SFUSD, OAH case no. 2023080399) the board recorded votes of 7 yeses and authorized the district to pay up to the stipulated amounts.

The readout was delivered at the start of the open meeting and the chair concluded the closed‑session summary before proceeding to the public workshop on attendance. The readout did not include dollar amounts in open session; staff follow‑up will be managed by the general counsel’s office if payments are finalized.
