Bond oversight panel adopts AB361 resolution to continue remote meetings

The Citizens General Obligation Bond Oversight Committee voted to adopt a resolution under Assembly Bill 361 to continue meeting by teleconference for at least the next 30 days.

Vice Chair Matthews moved to adopt the resolution and Member Sanderlin seconded. The committee took a roll-call vote; all members present voted in favor and the resolution was approved.

Committee materials said the committee found the State of California and the City remained in a state of emergency related to COVID-19 and that in-person meetings would present an imminent risk to attendees. The resolution directs committee staff to place a substantially similar item on future agendas if the committee does not meet within 30 days.

The vote followed a procedural presentation about how members of the public could join and comment remotely and a short public-comment period during which no callers raised their hands. No amendments to the resolution were proposed during the meeting.

The committee’s adoption keeps the committee’s public oversight activities accessible by teleconference while staff monitor public-health guidance and meeting logistics.
