Fire Commission adopts teleconference findings under state law

The San Francisco Fire Commission on March 9 adopted Resolution 2022-05, which makes the formal findings needed to allow members to participate and vote remotely under California Government Code section 54953(e). Commissioner Francie Covington made the motion and Commissioner Armee Morgan seconded it. President Katherine Feinstein and Vice President Steven Nakajo recorded their votes as "I" during a roll-call vote; the chair declared the motion adopted unanimously.

The resolution was presented as a procedural item early in the meeting and drew brief public comment before the commissioners voted. With the vote, the commission followed statutory requirements for teleconferenced public meetings while retaining opportunities for in-person observation and standard three-minute public comments for callers.
