Fire Commission approves minutes, votes to enter closed session and declines to disclose closed-session discussion

The San Francisco Fire Commission conducted routine procedural business during its July 13 meeting, approving prior minutes, temporarily moving into closed session, and voting not to disclose the contents of that session.

During Item 4 the commission considered approval of the minutes from the June 22, 2022 regular meeting. A commissioner moved to approve the minutes, the motion was seconded, President Katherine Feinstein and Vice President Steven Nakajo announced votes to adopt and the clerk declared the motion unanimous.

Under Item 7 the clerk read statutory authority permitting closed-session consideration of items listed in the agenda under California law and San Francisco administrative code. A motion to hold subitems 7b–7f in closed session was moved and seconded; the commission convened a closed session at 10:12 a.m. and returned to open session at 10:22 a.m. The clerk reported there was nothing to report under the codes cited.

President Feinstein then moved that the commission not disclose any or all discussions held in closed session pursuant to San Francisco Administrative Code section 67.12(a). The motion carried unanimously. The commission then adjourned at 10:23 a.m.

These procedural votes were recorded on the meeting transcript; no additional substantive actions or policy decisions were disclosed in open session.
