San Francisco — At its Jan. 11 meeting the San Francisco Fire Commission elected Vice President Steven Acasio as commission president and Commissioner Armee Morgan as vice president, both by unanimous roll-call votes, and adopted the commission’s 2023 statement of purpose.
Leadership changes: Outgoing President Katherine Feinstein gave brief remarks thanking commissioners, staff and department personnel for their service. Acasio was nominated, seconded and elected by roll-call vote; later in the meeting Commissioner Morgan was nominated and elected vice president.
Statement of purpose: The commission read the 2023 annual statement aloud and adopted it unanimously. The statement affirms the department’s mission to protect lives and property, prioritize community paramedicine and emergency medical services, and promote fiscal responsibility, fitness and equitable recruitment.
Procedural notes: Commissioner Paula Collins left before closed session; a vote to move personnel items into closed session passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 11:32 a.m.
