Ethics Commission reviews draft annual report, plans final adoption in November

Director Pelham presented the draft annual report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022, describing updated campaign‑finance dashboards, the public financing program ahead of the November election and development work on the Ethics at Work program. Pelham said the draft is posted online and staff plan to circulate the final report broadly and increase social media outreach.

Commissioners praised the drafting and suggested modest edits. Commissioner Bush asked that the report include a more detailed “looking forward” section that elevates commissioner priorities and a summary of state or federal actions that affect local ethics work; Pelham confirmed that four of seven items Bush proposed had been incorporated and offered to circulate his broader suggestions. Chair Lee recommended creating a one‑page cover letter or key‑points sheet to accompany the public release so readers can quickly understand the report’s highlights.

Commissioners agreed to use the next meeting in November to finalize and adopt the annual report, allowing time to incorporate commissioner feedback and reach absent members. Pelham said staff would reach out to any absent commissioners and return the revised draft for final action.
