Commission adopts teleconference findings under California Government Code §54953(e)

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Commission on the Environment unanimously approved a resolution authorizing continued teleconference participation under California Government Code §54953(e) at its meeting Tuesday.

Chief policy and public affairs officer Charles Sheahan presented Resolution File 2022‑01‑COE, noting the findings permit the commission to hold remote meetings consistent with newly enacted state provisions while meeting certain Brown Act requirements. Commissioner Sullivan moved adoption, the motion was seconded and the commission opened the item for public comment.

A public commenter noted a typographical error in the draft minutes/certification line (a year on a certification should read 2022). Commissioners thanked the speaker and proceeded to a roll‑call vote; the resolution passed with all commissioners recorded as voting aye.

The resolution enables the commission to continue conducting public business remotely while adhering to the procedural safeguards specified by state law and local policy.
