SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Ethics Commission moved into closed session on Nov. 9 to discuss executive director recruitment and later voted not to disclose any actions or discussions from that closed session.
Chair Lee introduced agenda item 8 and cited authority to meet in closed session under California Government Code section 54957(b)(1) and Administrative Code section 767.10(b) to discuss recruitment for the executive director position. An unnamed commissioner moved to enter closed session and the motion was seconded; roll call recorded three affirmative votes and the commission entered closed session.
After returning to open session, a motion not to disclose closed session deliberations was made and seconded. The commission again recorded three affirmative votes on a roll call and approved the motion not to disclose. The commission did not disclose the content of its closed session deliberations, as permitted under the cited legal authorities.
The actions taken in closed session were not revealed at the meeting; the commission concluded its public business and adjourned.
